Teaching English in Spain - A World of Opportunities

The Ministry of Education and Vocational Training of Spain is once again running its International Education programme for Language and Culture Assistants, aimed at young graduates or senior English students with a high level of proficiency (at least C1) in the language.

The programme, which was first launched in Hungary in 2017, provides participants with the chance to immerse themselves in Spanish culture and society, while working as language assistants in a range of schools throughout Spain. Specifically, they will be assigned to elementary and secondary state schools, where they will assist classroom teachers in reinforcing their students' oral English language skills, as well as helping to foster cultural awareness. Additionally, they may have the opportunity to collaborate in classes taught in English in other subjects. The programme lasts for a full academic year, from October 1st to May 31st, and offers a monthly bursary of €800-1000 for a typical 14-16 hour weekly schedule.

The selection process is managed locally by the Embassy of Spain's Education Office, and applications are open until April 4th. Further details on the call for proposals and candidate guide are available in English at the following links:
