Zsuzsanna Brettner has obtained her first degree in Nursing. She has got a Masters in Social Policy and Social Work. She has got a Quality Auditor Certificate. She earned her Ph. D. degree in Political Science in 2014. She wrote her doctoral thesis on local government old age policy. She is a member of the editorial board of Szociális Szemle (Hungarian Social Review).
Zsuzsanna Brettner studies the problem of active ageing and the opportunities inherent in partnerships between the local council and other actors of social policy.
2015: Evaluation Research in Residential Drug Rehabilitation programs. A project funded by the Ministry of Human Capacities. Leaders: Prof. Gábor Kelemen & Dr Márta B. Erdős.
2007- 2011: Psychosocial transformations and the rhetoric of change in the 12-step Fellowships. A project funded by the National Scientific Research Fund. Leader: Dr. Gabor Kelemen.
2002-2003: Phare Network: Self-help and self-care in the context of recovery. (Project evaluation; external observation)
2000: Pro Facultate Medicinae 3rd Prize
