The purpose of the research center

The Developmental Psychology Research Group brings together the developmental psychology research carried out at the Institute of Psychology, University of Pécs. This research examines the interaction between child development and environmental factors in three main areas:

  1. the role of individual, social and environmental factors shaping social-emotional development and self-regulation;
  2. the course of divergent development: neurodiversity, atypical development, and the emergence of sensory, cognitive and social characteristics from infancy to adulthood;
  3. the challenges of the digital world: screen use in young children, parental mediation, and online abuse (cyberbullying).
