The purpose of the research center

The research group aims to understand how human personality functions across the full spectrum, from the resource-based personality traits identified by positive psychology to pathological functioning. This undertaking also seeks to connect clinical and preventive practice with academic research. Our goal is to carry out research that, beyond advancing knowledge, can also be applied in therapeutic, corrective and personal development interventions.

The Clinical and Personality Psychology Research Group brings together the research carried out at the University in the fields of clinical psychology and personality psychology. Coordinated by the Institute of Psychology, the research is conducted in the following areas:

  1. the study of dark personality traits;
  2. positive psychology research;
  3. research on clinical assessment instruments and diagnostic systems;
  4. suicidology research.
