The purpose of the research center

The interdisciplinary research group carries out its work with the participation of numerous researchers, historians, and archaeologists specializing in the history of ancient religions. We held our first conference on November 12, 2025, focusing on the Egyptian goddess Isis, whose figure was examined by members of the research group, including Egyptologists, archaeologists, classical philologists, and historians of religion. The conference served as a professional forum for Hungarian researchers specializing in the history of religion in the ancient Mediterranean. We aim to establish this as a tradition, and in the future, we plan to organize invitation-only workshop conferences centered on specific themes related to the history of ancient religion.
