BA MODULE SELECTION
In the case of certain training programmes, the curriculum prescribes a 50-credit curriculum block, which - depending on the training programme - can be either a Specialization module OR a Minor module.
The Module Selection Period in the 2023/2024 spring semester is
between 8:00 AM 15th April and 16:00 PM 26th April 2024.
Training programmes that allow the selection of a Minor module:
Students in the below mentioned training programmes are allowed to choose either a Specialization offered by their own training programme or one of the Minor modules (both listed under Selection Options)
- English and American Studies BA
German Studies BA
- Slavonic Studies (Russian) BA
- Romance Philology and Cultures (French) BA
- Romance Philology and Cultures (Spanish) BA
- Romance Philology and Cultures (Italian) BA
Students in the below mentioned training programmes are only allowed to choose a Specialization offered by their own training programme:
Liberal Arts BA
THE APPLICATION PROCEDURE
- The module selection procedure, like the course registration, takes place in Neptun. After logging in choose the Administration menu, then Module selection.
- Applications are assessed in the order in which they are submitted by the student.
- In the case of 50-credit programmes where an entrance examination has been held (or the student has fulfilled the admission requirements, e.g. by presenting the necessary documents for admission) and the student has passed the admission procedure, it is imperative that the department gives first priority to this programme, as only in this case can the department admit the student to the programme (if the student nominates another programme in first place and meets the admission requirements, he/she will be admitted to that programme). Without an electronic application, successful participation in the admission interview does not mean a successful choice of degree programme!
- In the case of over-application in modules where the Department has set a maximum number of applicants, the programme will rank students according to their grade point average, so that students with better academic results will be admitted to the module. In the case of a minimum number of applicants, the module will only start if the minimum number of applicants has been reached.
- For modules where there is no number limit nor admission requirements, all applicants will be admitted.
- Students who do not gain admission to the 50-credit training programme for which they were ranked first will automatically be placed on the list of the second-ranked module. Admission is decided by the Departments.
After completing the application, students can check which module they have been accepted to in their own Neptun student interface. Those who have not participated in the specialisation procedure or have not been admitted to any module of their choice must re-apply in the second round of the specialisation procedure. Please check the website and your e-mail account in this case.
Training programmes that are not included below and are supposed to be specialised this semester are automatically set as they have an optional specialisation.
If you run into any problems during your application, you can contact the Registrar's Office via student.humanities@pte.hu
