The thesis must include the "Declaration of originality for thesis" and also "Copyright disclaimer" documents. Both documents must be signed and inserted at the end of the thesis.

Obtaining pre-degree certificate

According to Code of Studies and Examinations of the University of Pécs the graduate student must obtain a pre-degree certificate in order to take the final exam, which is an administrative procedure in Neptun system and it is done by study administrators. (Code of Studies and Examinations of the University of Pécs; Article 2. 63. pre-degree certificate means a certificate issued by the University for the student who has passed the academic and examination requirements and the prescribed professional practice – except for writing the thesis work (thesis, degree thesis) – and has earned the prescribed number of credits).

After obtaining the pre-degree certificate, your student status will be ’Absolved’ in Neptun and final exam can be taken as follows:

Article 50 (3) of Act CCIV of 2011 on National Higher Education:

"Students may take the final examination after obtaining the pre-degree certificate. The final examination may be taken in the final examination period following the award of the pre-degree certificate within the framework of the student's student legal status, and within two years after the termination of the student's status, in any examination period, according to the applicable training requirements. The Code of Studies and Examinations may make the final examination conditional upon the expiry of the second year after the issue of the final certificate. No final examination may be taken after the fifth year following the end of the student's student legal status.”

Students, who no longer have active student status

For students, who no longer have active student status, the administration fee for the final examination is 20 000 HUF according to Annex 1 of the Code of Charges and Benefits.

Settling administrative fee:

To transcribe an item, login to your Neptun account, then go through the following steps:

click on Menu tab › then select FinancesTo Be Paid › click on transcribe item line: blue New Item icon › Title of payment: Service titleTerm (select actual term e.g. 2024/25/2) › Service type: Final closing exam fee for those without student status. No Subject type need to be filled out.

After you have gone through these steps, please click on Creation and payment icon and settle the 20 000 HUF fee.

In this case, we recommend VPOS payment (credit card payment in Neptun), because it is the most convenient due to its speed. If you wish to pay by bank transfer, be sure to transfer to the university’s main HUF bank account – this could take a few days to be registered at the Central Registrar’s Office.

Please note that, a student, who does not meet the curriculum requirements cannot be admitted to the final exam.

Course recognition

The examination period for students registered for the final exam, will end on 9 May 2025. For those, who take final exam can request course recognition until end of exam period. After that, course recognition cannot be processed. Applications received after this date will not be accepted by the Registrar's Office.
