Marta B. Erdos graduated as a teacher of English as a Second Language and obtained a Masters in Applied Linguistics. She received another postgraduate degree in Mental Health Counselling.
She earned her Ph. D. degree in Social Communication in 2004.She is a member of the editorial board of Szociális Szemle (Hungarian Social Review). She has been involved in a number of research projects on client-helper interaction and on the socio-cultural context of therapeutic change. She has substantial experience in qualitative and mixed-method evaluation research, CAQDAS and qualitative interview methods.

2007: Evaluation of Hungarian Social Work and Social Policy Students' Work Placements in Cheshire. Leaders: Prof. Elaine Hogard and Prof. Roger Ellis (OBE), Social and Health Evaluation Unit, University College Chester. (My tasks included individual and focus group interviews with Hungarian students on placement, social carers and team managers, analyzing various documents, participating in team discussions/steering.)
2006-2007: International research project on theatre therapy supported by EQUAL, EU. (Methods: External observation, focus group interview and open questionnaires.)
