Dr. habil. Fodor Mónika PhD

Fodor Mónika alkalmazott nyelvészként a szociolingvisztika és kultúratudomány területeinek eszköztárát összekapcsolva a narratíva, identitás és transznacionalizmus kérdéseit vizsgálja a trauma és emlékezet kapcsán irodalmi és kulturális antropológiai művekben, valamint filmekben. Amerikai irodalom és kultúra, valamint alkalmazott nyelvészeti és módszertani kurzusokat tanít BA, MA és doktori szinten. Elvégezte a University of Exeter tanárképzési MEd programját, valamint Fulbright fiatal kutatóként doktori résztanulmányokat a University of Iowa-n folytatott. A Cleveland State University Fulbright vendégoktatója volt 2017/18-ban.

Kutatásaiban az etnográfia és kulturális antropológia terepmunka módszereit alkalmazva tanulmányozza a transznacionalizmus, etnikum és identitás kérdéseit, valamint a kulturális tartalmak osztálytermi alkalmazásának lehetőségeit és módszereit. Az Ad American, Journal of American Studies című folyóirat szerkesztőbizottságának tagja. Legújabb monográfiája Ethnic Subjectivity in Intergenerational Memory Narratives: Politics of the Untold címmel 2020-ban és 2021-ben jelent meg a Routledge kiadónál.

Mónika Fodor is a sociolinguistics and cultural studies scholar working in the fields of narrative, identity, and transnationalism with a special focus on trauma and memory studies in literature, oral histories, and film. She teaches courses in American Studies, Applied Linguistics, and TEFL/TESOL at BA, MA, and doctoral levels. She completed an M.Ed. at the University of Exeter and, as a Fulbright young researcher, she studied and conducted research at the University of Iowa. As a Fulbright visiting professor, she taught at Cleveland State University in 2017/18. 

​​​​​Her research focuses on applying fieldwork in transnationalism, ethnicity, and identity studies and using culture as content in the EFL classroom. She serves on the editorial board of Ad Americam, Journal of American Studies, and works in an international research group on digital storytelling. Her most recent monograph, Ethnic Subjectivity in Intergenerational Memory Narratives. Politics of the Untold (Routledge, 2020, 2021) focuses on the discursive and conversational reconstruction of ethnic identity in intergenerational memory narratives.
