Dr. Szamosi Gertrúd PhD

Szamosi Gertrud 1990 óta a PTE Angol Nyelvű Irodalmak és Kultúrák Tanszékének oktatója. Brit, skót, kanadai, posztkoloniális és diaszpóra irodalmakat és elméleteket tanít BA, MA, tanári és doktori képzésekben.

Jelenleg az Erasmus csereprogramok intézményi koordinátora.

Gyakran tanít Erasmus partnerintézményekben, és számos ösztöndíjat nyert (British Council, Skót Művészeti Tanács, Soros Alapítvány, kanadai és amerikai kormány) támogatással. Rendszeres résztvevője nemzetközi konferenciáknak és publikál skót, kanadai és posztkoloniális témákban. A posztkoloniális elméletekről a Helikon irodalomtudományi folyóirat különszámát szerkesztette, tankönyvrészlete jelent meg a posztkolonialitásról, tanulmánykötetet szerkesztett Contested Identities címmel és magyar nyelvű kortárs skót novellagyűjteményt jelentetett meg.

Tudományos munkája mellett szocio- és művészetterapeutaként szerzett oklevelet, és fiatalokat segít önkéntesként. Németül és franciául is beszél.

Gertrud Szamosi has been lecturer at the Department of English Literatures and Cultures of the University of Pécs since 1990. She has taught in the fields of British, Scottish, Canadian, Postcolonial and Diaspora literatures and theories in the BA, MA, Teacher Training and Ph.D. programs.

Presently she is the institutional coordinator of the Erasmus exchange programs.

She regularly teaches at the Erasmus partner institutions, and in the past she was awarded with grants from the British Council, the Scottish Arts Council, the Canadian Government, the USIS, the Soros Foundation and others. She frequently attends international conferences and publishes scholarly papers in the fields of Scottish, Canadian and Postcolonial studies. She has also edited a journal and a reader on postcolonial theory, a volume on Contested Identities and a collection of contemporary Scottish Short stories in Hungarian.

Besides her academic work, she has earned a certificate in art- and sociotherapy and volunteers to help young people. She also speaks German and French.
